The roof is getting closer to being done. It still needs more flashing, on the east and west ends. It also needs two more lightning rods and the ridge cap.
They also fixed up the road this weekend:
The windows have arrived and will hopefully be installed this week. The adventure continues.

Enrolled in a course last week. I’ve been around in blogging for a while now so it isn’t all relevant to me any more; we’ll see how it goes.
I have a small adventure. Found an old wicker furniture set on the side of the road… driftwood-gray color. Can’t wait to add some streaks of teal blue paint and introduce it to a garden spot. I like having little benches scattered around the yard for people to see and enjoy the views.

That’s my kind of adventure! My real adventures at the moment are doing some creative things with new computer software and iPad apps. But the cabin and roadwork make more interesting stories for other people. And it’s fun to watch the cabin progress.
“adventure” seems to be my middle name right now, as I venture down the pathway of drawing and design…at the same revelling the sport of “for me, and only me”.
my “adventure” with the travelling egg went almost to the finish line, then for some reason (I know why!) it has been moved back to the drawing board.
as for drawing the human eye that has been entertaining and is doable but I have rethought how I might deal with that because really my hands appear to think that the drawing implement is drawing a badly twisting road…not an “straight” oval or even round shape of the bits required!
nothing serious, fun to know that need to adapt 🙂

as i sit writing this… almost half of our little state has horrific wildfires going.
we’ve had temperatures in the 100’s for over 21 consecutive days now. and no rain for over two months.
it was just a matter of time before this tinder box went up in smoke. right now in one of the fires a small town has been wiped out… the wind is gusting 25 to 30 mph. it is 9pm and still 100 degrees. but that’s better than the 113 it was today!
it’s the firefighters in all this that have my heart. i can’t even imagine how they’re still out there in this heat dressed in their garb. and now it’s night time and dark and the wind keeps changing. so dangerous for them. the low tonight is to be 86 degrees. they’ll be out there all night. heros indeed.
and that is my adventure (viewed from a few miles away!)
and on a nicer note… your house is looking fantastic!

– No, but there’s potential in that ‘tunnel’ in the last pic. It would have been such a good spot for ‘Hide and Seek’, or just to run through if I were still a kid in the vicinity.
